The Good (or indifferent) Stuff
These substances are what one would expect or desire to have in a good quality traditional sea salt. Note the difference between industrial salts, in which the amount of sodium chloride is generally between 98.5 to 99.3% and the value mentioned below. The rest is trace elements, most necessary for human health.
Sodium Chloride: 95% (dry weight basis)
Humidity: 5.1%
Magnesium: 736 mg/kg
Calcium: 62 mg/kg
Potassium: 110 mg/kg
Insoluble Materials: .08%

The Bad Stuff
Analyses also serve to ensure that potentially harmful contaminants such as heavy metals are either absent or present below generally accepted levels. These values are generally shown in lab analyses as being lower than this certain recommended value. The stated value DOES NOT mean that these substances are present. For example:
Copper: less than 1mg/kg
Lead: less than .2mg/kg
Cadmium: less than .3mg/kg
